Nancy has lived in Oxford all of her life with the exception of 12 years when she lived and worked in Birmingham as an Executive Secretary with Bell South. Upon taking early retirement, Nancy returned home.
She was raised in a Christian home and church has always been a vital part of her life. At the age of five she began playing the piano and played her first hymn in church when she was eight. In the 27 years she has been at Lakeview Baptist, 25 of them have been playing the organ.
Nancy is the proud mother of three married children and one grandson. Her life is busy with numerous church functions, civic organizations, family, friends and in her spare time, reading and traveling.
Nancy’s favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:10, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” It is a verse that has lifted her up and helped her continue on life’s journey. As a breast cancer survivor, the loss of her Dad and daughter seven months apart and ten years later the loss of her mother and husband six months apart, it is with her faith and His grace that she is the person she is today.
In looking back over her life, Nancy says this: “The one word I would use to describe myself is BLESSED, for I have never walked alone. My prayer is that you will always be able to see Jesus in me.”
